Research Of The Active Network Technology And The Application In Network Management

With the development of Internet, The TCP/IP protocol is successful, yet it has many limitations such as its lacking extension. With the development of demand by user and the new application, the network framework can't suit the needs. There are several disadvantages in the traditional networks. Such as the inflexibility of architecture makes new service difficult to be created and deployed, the connectivity of end –to-end network makes resources management inefficient and usage of services of network impotent. To solve this problem, an active network exploits mobile code and programmable infrastructure to provide rapid and specialized service introduction. As novel programmable network architecture, the active network supports the development, verification, and deployment of new network protocols and services. Also, it presents new approaches for network management, new services like reliable multicast, congestion control; web caching QOS control and etc. In the thesis, the correlation notions to active network are presented. The architecture of active network is analyzed. We analyze the inner structure of active node, and the process of packets passing through the active node.An active network application – network management architecture is proposed in this thesis. I describe the design of Active network management system, which provides the properties of distributed control and programmability inside the network. And we design the EANTS to suit our network management. Secondly, we describe the topology discovery arithmetic and performance management problem and analysis some Route exploration algorithms. Thirdly, I presentation of MPR flow management problem and design the model. Finally, a prototype system developed with EANTS is presented, which implements configuration management performance management and etc.
