It is very significant but much complicated to design and perform the long-distance monitor and the expert-based fault diagnosis for elevator systems. In this thesis, we develop mainly the design approaches for long-distance monitor system, expert-based fault diagnosis system, and system synthesis in elevator systems.The thoughts of DCS (Distributed control system) and SCADA (Data gathering and monitoring system of distributing type) are introduced into the design of the monitoring system for improving the reliability and reducing the computation burden. Since MCGS 5.1 Workers is convenient for use and owns the fine visibility, strong maintainability and excellent performance etc, this soft ware is utilized in the design of the monitoring system. The design contents of the monitoring system is composed of the following: The design of the main management and configuration window, the design of the user's configuration window, the design of real-time data bases, the design of the equipment configuration window.In order to shorten construction cycle, improve the speed of the real-time monitor and fault diagnosis, the soft ware Knowledge Wright produced by the company Amzi is adopted in our design. The ordinary failures and the experience coming from some maintaining experts are brought in to form the expert system. Moreover, the communication and exchange of the data among systems is discussed in detail. Our design shows some new characteristics as follows.1) SCADA system is used to ensure the convenience to be operated, the high reliability, and the excellent visibility for the present monitoring system. In the meantime, the speed of real-time fault diagnosis is improved by using expert systems.By improving the search approach in the reasoning process of expert systems, and adopting the method of uncertain reasoning at the same time, the diagnosis system becomes more flexible and more generic.3) By using DDE(Dynamic data exchange) technique, the real-time dynamical data exchange of sharing ram can be performed conveniently between two application procedures within the window framework of Microsoft Operative System.It is worthy pointing out, the debugging work of the design system is accomplished to run in the simulated model. We think that the practical application of this design in a real lift system can be performed in the future.
