Remote Elevator Monitoring System (REMS) controls and monitors elevators installed within a certain field, in a building, in a district, even in a city. It provides data management, maintenance, statistics, analysis, failure diagnosis and assistance for these elevators. It aims to perform remote maintenance, remote fault diagnosis and handling, early failure analysis and early troubleshooting, as well as the statistics and analysis for elevator operating performance and failure conditions. And it selects rational operation plan based on proper analysis to facilitate the effective monitoring and management of different departments.Nowadays the major problem of REMS is its openness is relatively low, which is caused by different stardards used by different elevator manufacturers, so there is a much higher demand on system standardization. Based on the design & implement of this REMS, which is applicable to different types of elevator from different manufacturers, combined with various techniques, this article proposes a REMS solution composed of terminal controller, transmission network and monitor platform to solve current problem. There is a detail design specification of the terminal control in this article. Hardware architecture is as following. ARM microcontroller LPC2378 is the core controller extended with RS-232,RS-485,Modem,USB and dual Ethernet port to collect data from different elevator interfaces. On software, function interface program and multi-protocol interface conversion program are designed. Besides, unified network protocol and standard monitor data format are realized. Also the design and development of the monitoring platform are introduced, such as dynamic data exchange, real-time monitoring of elevator running status and web publishing function, etc. System debugging results are listed in the end.The multiple elevator remote monitoring system proposed by this article has important significance for actual regional REMS application and protocol standardization of elevator monitoring system. |
