Research Of User Access Management System On Broadband IP Network

The dissertation aims to study current user access management methods and its technical realization on broadband IP network, and develop 802.1X protocol based on thorough research in the 802.1X protocol for LAN access control.The 802.1X protocol is a protocol for port based network access control, which was provided by IEEE in March, 2001. Click is a new modular software for building routers, which is characterized by flexible configuration and easy extension. Developing the 802.1X protocol with Click software can decrease developing difficulty, shorten developing period and reduce developing cost.Click module Auth developed in the dissertation can basically realize authenticator system function of the 802.1X protocol. It can authenticate more users at the same time, and supports MD5 authentication way. It not only can implement local authentication, but also authenticates users using remote RADIUS server. Configuring a router by combining module Auth with other Click modules and installing the router to an access control device, the device will have 802.1X protocol function. The application of 802.1X in LAN will greatly enhance networks security.
