Epf Based Generic Authentication Protocol

Internet is a network architecture in the early stage,with the growing number of users and amount of data, it’s difficult for Internet to statisfy the requirement of QoS (quality of service), which has become a major challenge faced by Internet. Although the researchers of Internet worked hard to improve QoS of Internet, they tried to add some of QoS assurance technologies, such as RSVP(resource reservation protocol)、Intserv (Intergrated Services) and Diffserv(Differentiated Services).However, because the user data still need to transfer in a three-tier data platform, which greatly reduces the data transfer rate.Single physical layer User data switching Platform Architecture (SUPA) is a kind of next generation Internet (NGI) architecture, which is proposed by the Sichuan network communication key laboratory based on Ethernet-orented Physical Frame Timeslot Switching (EPFTS) technology. Using outbanding signaling technology, SUPA separates Signaling and Management Platform (S&M-Platform) from User data switching Platform (U-Platform) which is simply a single physical layer structure.SUPANET is designed as the core backbone of network. Network security issues are more and more worthy of attention.Network information technology has become an important strategic resource for social development.Therefore, introduction of authentication technology in the SUPANET gives priority to protecting the security of the network.With the development of network technology, information security becomes an important field of information technology. As one of the important network security mechanism, authentication mechanism has become a core technology in computer network security, which also is the basis of computer network security. It provides protection on the identity of the person or affairs, so it is very important in a variety of information system security.In the information age, authentication protocol has been developed as a main research field for information security issues. Authentication is not only the core technology in computer network security, but also the basis of computer network security.The content of this subject is design and research of authentication protocol based on EPF frame in SUPANET. The author designs generic authentication protocol frame format and implementations based on the EPF (Ethernet-oriented Physical Frame) transmission, according to the practical needs of SUPANET. This has an important significance for SUPANET application and commercialization in the furture.
