Reverse Engineering(RE) modeling technology is such a CAD technology that makes product modeling based on measured data of product surface , which RE CAD software is a CAD software like this. Not same as general CAD/CAM software, RE software can process numerous data can not does general CAD software. The author gave RE software such a orientation that it is a special auxiliary software for general CAD software that can process a large scale data can not do general CAD which should be applied to special industry.Firstly, this paper discussed current situation of research , key technology , application and its softwares on RE(Reverse Engineering) , described domestic situation of research and development on RE and gave the background and significance of paper selection based on this situation.Then, this paper analyzed data process and basic function for a RE software, and designed a logic framework for a Reverse Engineering software corresponding to analysis of data process and technical characteristic of RE, then analyzed and discussed functional modules and hierarchical relation of system structure for RE, in return founded a application programming framework named ReCAD based on MFC framework, and mapped a physical structure framework this system can realize, and discussed design and development of all of system modules and hierarchical relations among them , then discussed modules realization of the system and driving of system function.Lastly, this paper presented one new mode of system framework and development on Reverse Engineering software on precondition of finishing development of ReCAD. This is the conclusion and end-result in this paper.
