Research And Application Of GIS In Highway Monitor System

Geographical Information System(GIS)is a new blink subject, which integrates computer science, information science, mathematics, statistics, spatial science, remote sensing science, telemetry science, environmental science, manage science and so forth. It is an extension of GIS application to use it to process and update the data information of freeway. The thesis reviewed the history of GIS development. Then the characters of GIS about highway in our country are contrasted and analyzed. Finally the problems to be urgently resolved are discussed. After analyzing the information mentioned above synthetically, the thesis establishes the research direction and working emphasis:The thesis discusses the research^ design and implementation of infrastructure of highway monitor system based on GIS, on which introducing some kinds of constructions of the WebGIS carefully after analyzing the basic concept, data structure, data modek main technic of GIS and WebGIS. Thus function modules, architecture and network topological structure are confirmed. The thesis introduces the way to implement the Shangjie Highway Monitor System based on GIS using Delphi and MapX. WebGIS system implements the basic function of electronic map, such as map zoom> pan, and the abundant query of geography and database by using MapInfo MapXtreme for Windows as map server and ASP technic. Based on the basic WebGIS Platform, the author applied it to the project "Shangjie Highway Monitor System based on WebGIS" and put forward a new method of integrating monitoring system and management system through WebGIS fundamental platform and solve some important problems in developing phase. Finally, the author discuss about the limitations and bugs of the system as well as the future way to improve on it.
