Application Research Of Data Sharing In XML/GML-Based WebGIS

WebGIS is a computer information system,which can store, manipulate, analyze, display and use geographic information in Internet/Intranet environment. With the rapid development of Intemet,GIS application extends area from desktop to InternetAlthough huge geospatial information exists in Internet, for business policy, benifits and data security,most of these data resources consist in various systems and isolated in desktop applications.which causes that we can not use our web browser to seamlessly access,view and exploit the vast,diverse and widely distributed geospatial data holding on the Web.It is hard to provide enough supports for spatial data interoperating and sharing,even more for spatial applications.This dissertation focuses on researching the spatial data sharing in WebGIS based on XML/GML.Firstly it introduces the WebGIS and its characteristics , the trend of its development and the problems which WebGIS encounters.Then it introduces the concept of OpenGIS and its demand of spatial information sharing and its interoperating in Internet. At last, the thesis try to apply XML technology to build WebGIS data sharing model in order to implement the geospatial information sharing and integrating in Internet.This dissertation puts forward a valid way to store and use the distributed geospatial data,introduces the technique of maping and transforming between XML data structure and relation-database data structure,describes the query and visualized technology of XML /GML data in WebGIS,uses GML as a describing language for geographic data to resolve the integrating of various geospatial data,and represents the data modeling and data storing based on GML. At last, the dissertation introduces the designing and developing of the geography information system of traffic accident based on some of these theories and methods.XML/GML-based WebGIS is a new field.The research and development on it will not only bring forth great impact on traditional conception and traditional technology,but also greatly influence the industries of WebGIS .Using XML in WebGIS is in developing , the elementary research will establish the foundation for developing OpenGIS.
