The Design And Research Of Web-based Computer Aided Test System

Examination is the important segment of teaching. How does the examination fit the specialty of modern education and provide much better service for teaching? The WebCATS is the key method to resolve the problem because of its special advantages.This thesis analyses the technologies used in current Web-based Test System. And confirms to use B/S model as the database system structure for the WebCATS, gives the function model structure of the system.The thesis analyses the test theory, confirms the design way that meets Classical Test Theory combined Item Response Theory according to the specialty and target of the system. At the same time, this thesis gives the rule of item bank design, discusses the quality control of item bank through the validity and the choice of test questions type. It also analyses SQL Server 2000 that is the technology of background database server system in details. And gives the logical design of item bank.At last, the thesis gives the realization of make papers. It uses XML to store test papers and transfer papers from background server to browser. In order to provide the friendly interface, using Javascript, we design the floating board. Clients can get the information of which is done or not done conveniently and also meet the target question conveniently through the link function provided by the tree list in floating board. The thesis specially analyses the characteristics of word operation questions. Using VB, the thesis implements correcting papers on-line automatically.The thesis also analyses the shortage of the WebCATS and gives some advices for the future design.
