The hydrologic telemetric equipment is an important component in automation research in the field of Water Conservancy. Limited to the environment, the traditional used hydrologic telemetric equipments are Data Transmitter and ultrashort wave transmitter-receiver. With the development of chip technology and mobile communication technology, study of new wireless telemetric terminal can be possible.This paper analyses the character of traditional hydrologic telemetric equipments, discusses using Embeded OS on MSP430F149 and Short Message Service in GSM network to implement wireless telemetric terminal. Firstly this paper introduces basic knowledge for application system on microcontroller, and then, studys and implements Embeded OS on MSP430F149 with round robin task schedule. With this platform, this paper puts forward HYPR protocol using SMS Service in GSM network to implement wireless hydrologic data transmission. Finally, this paper discusses system analysis using Fault Injection Test method and reliability model.Hydrologic telemetric terminal with a core of multi-task on MSP430F149 fits hydrologic working environment with enhanced reliability. Wireless telemetric data transmission with GSM module is also a new application of mobile communication technology in hydrologic telemetric equipment.
