This project -_the remote control system for water-saving irrigation automation for Sanlian irrigation district commissioned by irrigation works bureau of Nantong and Irrigation works bureau of Rugao, was researched and designed in the paper. This system is made up of three parts: On-the-spot instrument On-the-spot control centre and remote control centre. This project has two stage:1. The design and development of irrigate automation and Water-Information engineering.2. Research of "Wireless long-distance data collecting system based on GPRS. The paper mainly discusses four contents:1. Designs the automated system of the water-saving irrigation overallly.2. Introduces embedded System's general module design of hardware and software which is based on Rabbit 2000 microprocessor ,and has some kinds of communication interface.3. Considering the desire of Irrigate automation and Water-Information engineering, the on-the-spot control system based on embedded System's general module is designed and developed, and the corresponding Management software of information is also designed in detail. The system project has passed the confirmation of the scientific and technological office of Jiangsu Province.4. Further more, Considering the desire of super-long-distance controlling system , GPRS Wireless communication technology is applied to realize ling super-long-distance control.In the end of paper, the further development in water-saving irrigation is described.
