Application Of Web Technology In Control System

With the rapid development of advanced science and technology, such as computer network and information, the world has been in the era of information with the kernel of network. Because of these high technologies, a profound change in control domain has been taken place. Web technology takes the HTTP technology as its base and has the advantage of simpleness and high efficiency, has become the most common technology of information exchange in Internet and Intranet. The import of web technology into control system is general trends, and is also a feasible resolution of the difference of data format and software style in enterprise manegement office automation and different administrative levels of monitor and attemper.The mostly task of this paper is to take all the advantage of web technology to reconstruct the traditional monitor system of DCS, so that the monitor system can be more powerful in process control, more advanced in remote monitor and easier to access the network.First, web technology and development technology based on web technology is simple introduced.Then, three kind of application of web technology in industrial control was introduced. First is some preparatory research I have done in OPC-XML criterion. We want to take it in the use of data transfer and release of field data via Internet. Next is the device description technology based on XML. Last is the software design and implement of remote monitor module in DCS.In the concrete implement of remote monitor module, the most popular browser/server framework is used. Dynamic web technology, such as ISAPI and ASP is used to realize the web server. ActiveX and script program technology are used to design the web pages to be accessed by the client. The purpose is to realize remote monitor maintenance and alarm via IE browsere.In the end of the paper, the key issue and the foreground of the application of web technology in industrial control is discussed.
