Web-based Industrial Automation Applications

Nowadays, the Industrial Ethernet is increasingly mature. The web technology based on Industrial Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol suite plays an important role in industrial automation system. This paper is based on a project of a university constructing a laboratory on SIMATIC industrial control network .The author stduied industrial automation IT solution ITlution of Siemens based on the corresponding software and hardware product.During the study of IT solution based on SIMATIC IT-CP, the technology of FTP communication, E-mail communication and Web communication was discussed. After the introduction of network management based on web technology, the IT solution based on SIMATIC ESM was researched. In order to carry out the on-line data system of waste water project, the IT solution based on WinCC Web Navigator was researched. For making the automation technique and the Internet technique combine together,the remote access solution was discussed.The author designed the PLC distance laboratory system based on web technology and providesd the structure of hardware and the thought of software. The automation network was Industrial Ethernet,the fusion of automation network and information network was realized and the problem of remote communication was resolved by Java Applet. Engineering experiment of remote monitor and control dam system was realized in the PLC distance laboratory system based on web technology. The experiment proves that the design of the PLC distance laboratory system based on web technology is feasible.
