The Studies And Applications On Ethernet-based Industrial Control System

With the development of the control, computer, communication and network, information transfer domain is covered from all levels of the factory, from field devices to management. And this results to the change of the struct of the automation system. As well as pursue the whole permanent of the control system, the study to its important support - the industrial network system, is never stop.The function of the industrial network is to meet the demand of information transfer between different levels. It is the key support system of the process control. But the non-open and non-compatible are the problems. Not only DCS, but also fieldbus, these phenomena all happened. Different devices from different manufacturers can not work together well. This will severely block the development of the industrial automation and many new tenology.The appearance of the industrial Ethernet is one of the resolve. Compare to fieldbus, Ethernet developed fleetly. It has many virtues. At the beginning of this paper, is the presentation the development of the industrial network, and point out the advantages and the limitations when Ethernet is used in process control.This paper puts forward the key technology of the industrial Ethernet. Then the paper is given the resolve of the real-time of industrial Ethernet, bus-powered of industrial Ethernet and the dependability of industrial Ethernet. Based on the study of those key technologys, bring forward the structure of the system and the material implement scheme.The study and develop of the controllers and field devices are also given. The devices had passed the EMC test and precision test, can used in the industrial field. According to the implement scheme, the control system used those devices are buildup. The system was used in Hangzhou Longshan Chemical Plant in April 2003, and it is run well still now.
