Embedded Video Monitoring System Based On Network

In this dissertation, an Embedded Video Monitoring System Based on Network is proposed as well as designed. This system is developed based on high performance embedded processor and DSP processor. The MPEG-4 technology , embedded Linux, and stream media technology are used in designing the system. By this system, we can do video monitoring all over the network.In chapter 1, a comprehensive description about the significance of the research work is given. The current research status of video monitoring system, embedded system, embedded Linux and stream media technology are also described.In chapter 2, a description about the software developing environment and programming techniques is given. Boot loader and embedded Linux are the basic software of the system, while multithread technique, device driver and stream media real-time transfer protocol are also discussed in detail.In chapter 3, the total system design is discussed in detail, including hardware design and software design.In chapter 4, a description about the embedded Linux device drivers is given, including SPI, UART device drivers.In chapter 5, the stream media server design is presented, including data flow-design, UML design, device driver interface and RTP/RTCP module designIn chapter 6, the main research conclusion is summarized. The prospect of further research is also proposed.
