Research And Development Of Project Scheduling Management Information System

The design of railway project is famous for a long design cycle, more participants, large investments and more related specialities. Moreover a Railway Survey and Design Institute usually has more branches distributed in deferent areas. So how to manage the scheduling information of a project more efficiently during the period of design across deferent areas and deferent specialities has become a key problem. Based on the fact above, it is emergent for us to develop a Railway Project Scheduling Management Information System (PSMIS) to take the information management task.This thesis analyzes the PSMIS requirements first, then designs the PSMIS data contents, data types and data formats, and at last then discusses the main managed objects in detail.The system aim, the architecture and the general design of the system are completed in this thesis. According to system functions, the system is divided into four sub-systems: User Management, Project Management, Project Monitor and Project Maintenance and Others. Based on the structure of B/S and the database, the system saves the projects' scheduling and other related informations into the database and provides services for the users through the network.As an important research point, the sub-system of User Management solves the problem of managing users in a remote and distributed environment. Another difficult research point is to develop a COM-supported web server which can be used and introduced widely in the market. Based on the practice, the sub-system of Project Management solves the problem of data input by the project dispatcher through project templates. The sub-system of Project Monitor resolves the difficult problem of monitoring the project's real-time status by the managers and has a certain analytic function for the statistic data.The system has been applied in several schedule management systems of Railway Survey and Design projects, such as the famous Qingzang Railway project, etc. It is proved in the practice that the system can bring good social and economic benefits and now it is widely used in the First Survey and Design Institute.
