The application of Internet has come into everywhere for people's daily life. With the rapid development of Internet, besides computer, a great number of electric instruments begin to access Internet, which leads to the development of Embedded Internet technology(EI).Since small devices such as sensors are often required to be physically small and inexpensive, an implementation of the Internet protocols will have to deal with having limited computing resources and memory. This paper describes the design and implementation of TCP/IP stack that is small enough to be used in minimal systems.First, the paper proposes character and requirement of the embedded TCP/IP protocol under analysing the difference betweenthe embedded TCP/IP protocol and the standard TCP/IP protocol. Second, the paper analyses the TCP/IP protocol standard, proposes design conception of the embedded TCP/IP protocol, and gives a simplified scheme of the embedded TCP/IP protocol. At last, the paper carry out the embedded TCP/IP protocol with the simplified scheme, and tests it. It can be seen, the paper describes a development process of the embedded TCP/IP protocol completely.
