With the developing of internet, fast speedy of e-business, people need improve the technology for information managing in high level. But HTML language and other key search technology can not substitute the increasingly user's information requirement, it has not the character of expending, structure and data validate in Web application. So, XML can handle with these short coming. It provides a new data model in web with self semi-description. If we put xml data in some structure, we can search, analyze, update and output in easily management and system environment. Now there are so many methods for managing XML data. One of these is use RDBMS to manage. Now many searchers focus on it, because RDBMS is mature technology for a couple of years. If we can use these two methods, we can realize the uniform management for two kinds of data. So how to store xml data in RDBMS is a good project in xml research field, it can extend a new way in database research. This article analyzes the xml language and DTD and discusses the xml database store technology. It analyzes several methods for mapping between xml and RDBMS. I bring forward the strategy of how to predigest DTD based on Object-Relation model and design the algorithm of mapping between XML model and RDBMS model and design a query language -OQL, which inherit the character of SQL and XML. Basedon these, I design a prototype system -----XML-RDB. The prototype system cangenerate the view of database by the special DTD, it can import xml data to RDBMS for a special xml document. My system has a good graphic interface. It supports oracle, mysql, sqlserver, access, db2, etc. It realizes to convert data among many databases, it has a good future.
