Now more and more scientists have put their eyes in the research of the neural system, especially about the olfactory system. Olfactory sensor may be the most unknown one. It is reported that the mechanism of olfactory neural system could have many relations with the study and memory mechanism of the brain, so we can know more about the neural system through the studies of the olfactory system. In this paper, two studies of olfactory are studied -Simulation and modeling of olfactory system, and the study of the olfactory neural chip.A set of models for pattern classification based on olfactory system, which are named K set, has been established recently. Simulating living being's olfactory system, it improves the speed and correctness of pattern classification significantly using nonlinear dynamics method. Based on Freeman's previous work, KO~KIII models are analyzed in this paper. The results of the application of KII model on the classification of one-dimensional binary series are presented.The cell-based biosensor using FET array provides a non-invasive way for recording the active potential real time, and it can be reach to a single cell. The sensors array is designed and fabricated using traditional IC technology. We have cultured the olfactory cells on the glass slice.Moreover, the FET cell based sensor will be combined with K set of models for testing these models, especially improving these models.
