Bionic model of sensory systems is one of the hottest fields of artificialintelligence. As an important part of sensory systems, all kinds of receptors thatconvert outside stimulus into biological signals play an important role in sensorysystems. As a researched object, olfactory neural system has distinct structure and ithas homology and similarity to other neural systems, so olfactory neural system hasbeen always concerned about by many researchers. Besides, the receptors in the nasalcavity have more interesting features.Olfactory receptor model and its characters are researched in this article under thebackground of olfactory neural system. Firstly, olfactory system is describedelaborately especially for olfactory receptor’s characters in neurophysiology. On thatbasis, some typical neurons are analyzed comparatively such as MP model and Spikemodel. Besides, the characters of these models are analyzed by numeric simulationand qualitative index. Secondly, considering the fact that chaos prevails in olfactoryreceptor, a new olfactory receptor model with chaos character is proposed. Thenumeric simulations show it can convert stimulus on behalf outside odor informationinto biological signals. We can bring about it more simply while Gaussian noise mustbe inputted into the olfactory receptor in K serious models that can excited the system.Lastly, considering olfactory receptor’s important role in olfactory neural system, aseries of new olfactory neural system model is structured integrated the proposedolfactory receptor model with the olfactory neural system structure in K series models. In addition, some numeric simulation is done. When the proposed olfactory receptormodel is used as a neuron model, numeric simulations show that the neuron model canreflect the characters of olfactory neural system, so it sets stage for further modelintegration.
