The Study Of 3-Dimension CAD System For Offshore Platform Design

Now, the domestic design style of offshore platform is still 2-dimension drawingand the most management of design data is manual work, which is at a low level ofvisualize, intelligentize and work efficiency. For improve this condition, according tothe theory of Structural Life Cycle Method, this paper develop a 3-dimensionmodeling CAD system for offshore platform design by means of making seconddevelopment of AutoCAD with Visual Basic 6.0 and developing an EngineeringDatabase with extending Microsoft SQL Sever. During system scheming phase, the system's total aim and main function isdefined and the feasibility analysis is carried through, then the development means ofsystem is selected: make second development of AutoCAD with Visual Basic 6.0 anddevelop an Engineering Database with extending Microsoft SQL Sever, and thestructure of system is Client/Sever. During system analysis phase, the system's logic model is set up through systemanalysis with IDEF0, which disassemble the function of this system and is often usedin the analysis of complicated system. During Engineering Database design phase, AutoCAD saves graphics data andSQL Sever is extended to save other data, and a system is designed to correspondAutoCAD and SQL Sever. The data model of system is set up by IDEF1X and therational analysis and design of database is carried through from aspects of versioncontrol, integrality, transaction control and system recovery, then the developmentmodel of database is confirmed. During application program design phase, with structural design method and onthe base of system's logic model, the module structure of the application program isdivided and designed. The second development of AutoCAD with Visual Basic ismade and 3-dimension modeling of offshore platform is realized by the means ofparameter modeling, and ADO is used to control database. A set of interval codesystem is designed. And then, the particular algorithm is designed for each moduleand is realized by VB language, and a simple user interface is implemented. 3-dimension modeling CAD system for the design of offshore platform is thefirst one to design in 3-dimension style internally, and it is the direction of offshoreplatform design with the advantage of rational structure and simple operation.
