In this paper we discuss an approach of modeling and rendering natural scenes, especially the meadow scene. The terrain is modeled by a combination of manual and random fractal method. Plants are randomly distributed throughout the terrain. Individual plant is modeled with parametric and random context sensitive L-system. We design a complier of parametric and random context sensitive L-system to simulate the development of plants and interpret the rules that decide the way plants grow. We also extend the L-system with the environment factor. We use Bezier curves to describe the shape of leaf midrib and embed the image of leaf into the space of local frames along the midrib curve. After we adjust the models of terrain and plants with other important parameters, we use some techniques such as sample points, multi-resolution to generate the whole meadow scene with high sense of reality. Samples have been given in the end of this paper, and some future research directions have been pointed out.
