Abstract/Summary:
ITU-T H.263/H. 263+ low bit rate video coding standard has been widely used in the field of video communication. Starting with the study of the video coding theory and algorithm in H.263 standard, a software decoder with self-determination copyright corresponding to H.263/H.263+ standard is designed and developed, the source code of which is of great reusability and portability by the rational design of the interface and data flow of the decoder program. A fast IDCT algorithm is applied for the speed optimization of the IDCT module, and MMX technology is also adopted to obtain higher decoding speed of the basic decoder on PC platform. The decoding of several H.263+ options is implemented by modifying the basic decoder program. Finally, the video coding algorithm of the latest H.264/AVC draft of JVT is discussed.
