A Research On Decision Support Technique Based On Data Warehouse

With the development of information technique, a large number of data are collected and the data are required to be transformed into information. Once information technique was looked forward to helping human operate basic data and manage information system, and today it is expected to support decision-making. Decision Support Technique based on Data Warehouse contains three techniques, including data warehouse, OLAP and data mining, and solves the strategic problems that enterprises are faced. A comprehensive introduction of the basic concepts and principles of these three techniques is given, and a statement that how these techniques are related to each other and how they cooperate to solve the decision-making problems of an enterprise is made.This paper first introduces data warehouse, OLAP and data mining, and the relationships among them. Then the architecture of a decision support system that is based on data warehouse is introduced. The emphases are put on the design and implementation of data warehouse, ETL and OLAP. With the postal analytic CRM as the example, a design and implementation of a decision support system is given. Last, two important problems are put forward for future research. The first one is ETL and the second data mining.
