Distributed Control System(DCS) is the automatic control technology, and it integrate four technologies into one, which are the Computer, the Control, the Communication and the CRT display. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) network system is a new control technology derived from the technologies including the electron, the automatic control and the net-communication.This paper discuss the characteristics and the development of DCS and PLC network, analyzes and studies the key feature of DCS, which is the centralized management and the decentralized control. Basing OMRON PLC, I analyze the key feature of the communication technology of PLC tri-level network(CompoBus/D, Controller Link and Ethernet), study emphatically the HOST Link and the PLC Link network communication system. On this base, a distributed monitor and control network system based on PLC is organized, which makes the best of the merits of PLC, for instance, lower environmental requirement and higher anti-jamming, which also takes advantage of the DCS's good qualities that is decentralized control and centralized management. Therefore, the performance of automatic control is improved.Mine hoist is the throat and life lines of mine. That its performance is safety or not will not only effect the productive efficiency but also bring some serious societal impact. Therefore, we apply the distributed monitor and control network technology based on OMRON PLC to the mine hoist's back-up protection control system, working-condition monitor system, analog data acquisition data processing system. And applying the HOST Link and the PLC Link communication technology, we realize the following functions, the real-time monitor and control the hoist's running state and running speed on line, real-time dynamic display, unified management by computer. The application also realize much more functions, such as real-time monitor the running state, low-speed run to debug, conveniently amend the key parameter, interface and sound give an alarm at the fault point, friendly human-computer interface, real-time display the hoist's velocity curve.Had proved by practice, this technology has much more practicality and popularized value.
