Research Of SAN-based Manager System--Design And Realization Of Replication Fuction

Recently a new type of network structure-Storage Area Network (SAN) gives a resolved plan for network storage. The SAN makes it true that storage resources can be divided from servers, and can provide high performance data pipe with 100 MB/s and shared storage devices managed concentrically. This makes data access, backup and restore will not reduce performance of network largely. Simultaneously, the SAN based on Fiber Channel-Arbitrated Loop (FC-AL) has convenience, expansibility, high fault tolerated ability, high reliability and agility of configuration. It can reduce total holding cost effectively.Currently, Many foreign large corporations have done a lot of research work in storage managing system based SAN. However, domestic research has not been deployed in this field, saying nothing of products.For this reason, the author analysed storage managing system based SAN, took part in a project of for it which named StorageControlManager.His main work is about Replication module. The strong storage managing system based on SAN, StorageControlManager, which is developed on UNIX series by us, has referred to the same product on abroad market. We have make use of a lot of good characteristics of UNIX to develop this SCM system, adopted many new technologies, and used advanced instrument to test according to software engineering. It provides with abilities of strong monitoring, detecting broken down of network devices and separating automatically, data management, storage resources management, security management and file management.The author attained some accomplishment to put forward following ideas.Firstly, he summarized the main structure of StorageControlManager.Secondly, he brought forward a point for replication.Thirdly.he designed replicatio module's fuction and realize it from program based on it.Fourthly,for settling some disadvantage of this module,he put forward a idea of Atomic Break Group.This article introduced the whole structure of this managing system based onSAN first, then it explained a important module -Replication module 's functiondesign and its primary technology to realize the target, last, it mentioned the future function which need to modify.
