Facing more intense global market competition and rapidly changing customer requirements, manufacturing enterprises have to change their product design and fabrication models greatly in short time. In recent years, with the development of information technology, the problems in the traditional design are resolved well by applying Virtual Design. Compared with the traditional design, no materials and energy are consumed in Virtual Design, and the producibility for the production are analyzed and estimated beforehand. The feasibility of the production's producing is increased and the physical test for the product is largely simplified. So, the cost of the new product is largely decreased and the time is shortened. So the global competition and changing customer demands effectively are creased.In the paper, based on Virtual Design and Virtual Manufacturing, the electronic actuator is studied, in order that the objection of researching rapid product development is obtained. Emphatically, virtual modeling, virtual assembling, motions simulation, interference detection, the management and creating of engineering drawings etc. are researched and studied.On the platform of the Solidworks, by means that the lower- class units' models form the higher-class units' model, the electronic actuator's virtual p model are established. Then, interference analysis and motions simulation for the virtual electronic actuator are done. By analyzed the feasibility of virtual sample, the problems which maybe exist in the process of design are founded in the class of design, in the same time the assembling plans and its rationality get reliable foundations.In the paper, the optimum CAD principle is studied. The modulus selecting method is presented, which is self-adapting optimized by adjusting the weighting coefficient to select the modulus. By the technology of B spline simulation, thecomplicated gears' teeth are founded. Based on Solidworks' platform, an involutes gear design system is developed. Some key technologies are described in detail, which include the design method of distributed component object model, the 3D feature modeling, engineering draw and the data synchronization technique. This system has the aid of function and efficiency of the general CAD software, and combines the computer's quickness and precision with the design engineer's logic thinking and synthetic analysis, can reduce mistake in the design, and can make the design quickly and accurately done.The method is formed, which the engineering drawings are coming into being by transformation form 3D to 2D. By it and the greatly compiling drawings function of AutoCAD, the electronic actuator's engineering drawings are made up.The technology is applied, which the 3D model and its 2D engineering drawings are fully correlated. The model and engineering drawing management system, which based on SolidWorks is development. The result of running this system shows that it accomplish entirely virtual modeling and engineering drawing management during virtual design period. So the quality and efficiency of are greatly creased.
