A Directory-Based Network Resources Management System--Network Management System

This paper begins with studying the Directory Service and its applications in thenetwork management system, analyses the advantages of the LDAP applyed in thenetwork management system, achieves the integratidh of LDAP protocol and SNMPprotocol and Directory Service and network management, then proposes a design model of a Directory-Based network management system. This model uses Web and Directory Service technologys based on the traditional network management.Base on the design of the model, we present a LDAP-Based network management system. This system is composed of Web browse and management station. The management station includes network management service, WWW service, Directory Service and database service. This network management system realizes the basic function of the Configuration Management, the Performance Management and the Fault Management, thus the feasibility of the design model is verified.
