With the expansion of network scale, more and more network resources are distributed wildly. No doubt, it adds many burden to network managers. It is urgent for most administrators to manage those resources with integrate, effective and direct methods. It results in the born of directory services. As a powerful distributed directory service, Active Directory is a new feature of Windows 2000. Active Directory lets users efficiently share and access distributed network resources. As Active Directory has many benefits, the author thinks it benefit for managing network to combine directory service with network management program. Directory service manages user accounts, groups, organization units, computers and etc. Network management program manages computers, gateways, switches and the interfaces of these network devices. Next author proves it practicality. The system develops Active Directory management system for domain control (directory server) and Active Directory browser platform for client. In Active Directory management system, it not only keeps layer management but also adds sort management. In Active Directory browser platform, the system supplies the function of searching network resources for users.
