The Research Of CORBA-based Integrated Network Management Strategies On CPN

With the rapid development of communication technology, Internet information sharing and high-speed data service, offering the broadband access already becomes the focus of communication fields at present, and Custofher Premise Network (Broadband Customer Premise Network, CPN) also becomes the focus of construction. Because of a hot competition and open network environment, the construction and management of CPN has its special characteristic, its service type becomes more complicated, and it needs much better managerial ability.Now CPN is in the status of Zero-management or it has many special management systems provided by the-equipment enterprises. With the gradual expansion of scale and the constant increase of service, the whole network is increasingly complicated and the problems of management will be very outstanding. Moreover, as various kinds of network and equipment are lack unified standard of interface, it has brought great difficulty to the construction of network management system, such as incompatible protocols, jumbled content, the difficulty of information exchange, lack of whole integrated management, various of operating interfaces and etc. At present, how to run the whole CPN effectively is a great difficult problem for the CPN operators.The research of this paper is extending with the background that the construction of CPN integrated network management platform of Shandong Communication Corporation. The author participates in the total strategy designing of its management system and is responsible for the implementation realization of the fault management subsystem.The main work and innovative points stated in this paper consists of the following parts:(1) The concept, characteristic and development of CPN are introduced. The management difficulty and problems which need solving urgently at present are analyzed.(2)Several kinds of technology and its management standards of the broadband networks are summarized. It places emphasis on the analyses of several kinds of technology, such as ADSL, HFC, Ethernet Over SDH, Ethernet access, the wireless broadband access,the optical access based on ATM and etc. Their applications , pluses and minuses are analyzed and compared.(3) The concept, system structure and technological characteristic of CORE A are introduced . The strategy of CPN network management based on CORE A is advanced.(4)On the base of analyzing and comparing the broadband access technologies, combining with CPN integrated network management platform of Shandong Communication Corporation, this paper designs two sets of schemes of CPN construction to choose.(5)The theory of integrated network management is advanced and it is applied to the CPN integrated network management.(6) A prototype of CPN integrated management system based on CORBA is designed and some subsystems functions of this system are defined, such as configuration management, fault management, performance management, accounting management, safety management and etc.(7)Fault management is discussed indetail and the monitoring module of fault management subsystem is implemented.(8)This module will be applied to CPN integrated management system of Shandong Communication Corporation.Finally, this paper summarizes the deficiency of the work and the future direction of this research has been pointed out.
