In these years, IP Network becomes more and more enormous, in order to improve the efficiency and reliability of network operation, network management theory and associated technology are adopted. This article discusses and implements Integrated IP Fault Management System in ChongQing information harbor project.First, this article discusses the network management theory: TMN and eTOM. TMN is recommended by ITU. TMN divides network management function into five functional areas: fault management, configuration management, account management, performance management, security management, and divides network management structure into five levels: network element level, network element management level, network management level, service management level and business level. eTOM is recommended by TMF, which i s divided into three functional areas: service fulfillment, service insurance and service billing. These two theories instruct the implementation of this integrated IP fault management system.System analysis is very important. So, this article studies the integrated IP fault management system requirement. Analyzes the collection, storage, processing and display of real-time alarm andhistory alarm. This article adopts math model to clarify the key system requirement: queuing system model for real-time alarm occurring, generic algorithms for topology optimization, and graphic dependency diagram for alarm relationship. These models insure the preciseness, consistency and integrality of data in the system.The technical platform is the base of design. This article discusses the implementation platform: J2EE and .net, which are both component-oriented technology. After comparing these two technologies, determines J2EE technology to implement this system, for it has the strongpoint: high extendibility, high availability, and fault tolerance.In design phase, this article us.es workflow principle to implement the system, which is configured by XML files. The implemented system is divided into three levels in architecture, the first level is fault data collection, the second level is fault data processing, and the third level is fault data display. Then this article discusses the implementation details of each level and focuses on the key control flow and data flow, lists the key JAVA classes and JAVA interfaces. At last leverages JAVA language to implement the Integrated Fault Management system base on J2EE platform.To sum up, this article studies the Network Management theory, analyzes the fault management system requirement, determine the technology implementation platform, design and implement the integrated IP fault management system. The implemented system has the features: rational system architecture, exact system implementation, extendible, maintainable, great openness and dynamic upgrade.
