Along with the raped development of Internet operation and multimedia operation and the rapid increase of mobile telephone user, people require more and more high speed and high security wireless multimedia communication. For carry out high security and high-speed wireless multimedia communication, we must introduce new design concept, such as intelligent antennae, intelligent transmission, intelligent receives and so on. Adaptive modulation is one of the intelligent transmission techniques. It is one of the crucial techniques of the mobile broadband system. It can adaptively adjust modulation mode by investigating fading channel traffic and etc of wireless channel. It can effectively improve performance of the bit error rate and information transmission bit rate. Adaptive modulation can also control quality of service according to transmitted information type and greatly increase capacity of system.The data frames in adaptive modulation communication system must be redesigned. Because the sender must tell the receiver the current modulation mode by some bits in the data frame and the receiver must gain the current channel condition from the data frame in order to control its modulation mode and symbol rate. So two fields must be added into the redesigned data frame. This article designs the data frame of adaptive modulation system and implementation of it through FPGA.
