| It is very useful to develop Environmental Management Information System(EMIS) for oil industry., This article discussed the development on "Petroleum EMIS of Three-tier Structure". The author analyzed the history and trend of EMIS both in China and the world wide, the existent problems on environmental software in China oil industry from the environmental management situation of petrochina. Base on these, he brought forward the object of his study and system architecture, analyzed system demands, plan, data and function modules, Designed databases, codes, security, and the whole software, at least developed the EMIS. At the same time, he selected advanced system architecture to run this EMIS easily and efficiently. The important achievements and innovates as follows:1. Having completed functions, and can meet the needs of environmental management.It designed the user-friendly interface. The users can to input the information conveniently. It has powerful query, can generate variety reports. Report module has the special features, It can output costumed reports according to the search, except for fixed monthly report and annual reports, and can output with various forms of Word, Excel, Htm1...etc., is convenient to reuse the environment information;2. Easy to useUse Tree View as the control interface of the system. All of the operating are based on the main window, you can brows records at the same time or just view one record; You can easily filter records. The interfaces are designed same as Windows and Office, the users are very familiar with it.3. Pay more attention to the consistency of the environment data- considered the data's consistency problem at design, from the environment management, pollution sources monitoring, environmental quality monitoring to statistics.- Adopted unified database, a datum has a source only. Avoided the problem on inconsistency data sources due to the data re-input .- Discussed the environmental protection data that Petrochina already has , and designed out the perfect data construction as far as possible.4. It is difficult point of the design of the new system that directly generated statistic data from the data sources.Because that the ability of monitoring of each enterprise of Petrochina is different. Especially they lack of some monitoring point, and the monitoring frequency is inconformity. It is also difficult to classify to class of the monitoring site.For the sake of this problem be solved, we designed some vivid monitoring point according the real situation and dependable calculation method, each environmental manager can calculate the result according to the defined formula, and meet the statistics needs of Petrochina.5. Adopted advanced construction to run this EMISThe architecture I mentioned in this article is "client/ application server/ database server three tier constructions". It neither differs from the past client/server(C/S) or browser/ server (B/S). It is similar to the latter, but it is not the same. It joined both of advantage, overcome both of lack:Client: The ICA client softwareApplication server: MetaFrame Server +EMISDatabase server: Oracle 8.1.6 or SQL Server 7.0Such of the way the user do not need to install the EMIS onto his own computer; The EMIS is completely run on the application server. It is easy to deploy clients, and easily updated and conveniently maintains, and has the good to hand over with each other. The ICA network protocol consumes approximately 5-10 kilobits-per-second (kbps) of network bandwidth, include the dial-up connection, so it can run on any kind of connections.The system architecture adopted can promote the environment management in Petrochina, easily to use, and also save lots of money. It is valuable to be used in all of the enterprises in Petrochina and other related companies. |
