| The cam CAD system for optical zoom lens applys computer technology to design zoom lens automatically with high precision and high efficiency. This system can solve the key technical problem in optical design and manufacture, it will improve optical design level and quality, shorten design cycle. At the same time, the system provides a practical new method for automatic design.This paper introduces the structure, work principle and general design idea for software in automatic design system by using geometry optical theories. Meanwhile, the technique of optical design and data manipulation as well as graph display is elaborated.
