Management Information System Of Nanjing Logistics Corporation

In this paper, developing history and characteristics of Management Information System (MIS) were introduced. And the brief analysis of operation's rules about transportation enterprises was also given. Then a conclusion, that it is very necessary to construct MIS based on Database in order to advance enterprises's efficiency and ameliorate departments' management, was reached.Keeping to the procedure of developing Database application systems, underlying the development environment Delphi 6.0 and relying on Database Management System (DBMS) Microsoft SQL Server 2000, the system analysis and design on MIS of Nanjing Logistics Corporation were presented in detail. What's more, with fundamental research, the following solutions were put forward: Database connectivity technology, which can help to implement this system which works in Client/Server mode, the way of using OLE (Object Linking and Embedding) to solve the storage and retrieval problems of BLOB (Binary Large Object Block) data type and the method of directly giving the Database system's operating purviews to right users with the application of DBMS's authentication mechanism, which help to control Database's access.At last, this paper concluded what MIS of Nanjing Logistics Corporation has achieved and looked ahead direction/orientation about developing MIS of transportation enterprises.
