Study And Development Of Home Automation & Building Automation System

With the rapid development of computer, communication and network, HomeAutomation is stepping to daily life. This paper describes the research anddevelopment of European Installation Bus which is a main protocol of the HomeAutomation.EIB - European Installation Bus is the dominant protocol of Building Automation andHome Automation in the world. Because of its excellence, it has been absorbed in HomeNetwork EIA-776 Criterion by Consumer Electronics Manufactures Association (CEMA).The research and development of this thesis are based on the specifications andrelated documents of European Installation Bus.This paper is divided into nine chapters:Chapter one introduces the concept of home automation and some world famousprotocols in home automation fields, which are helpful for our work.Chapter two is the guideline of the European Installation Bus system, with detailinformation of system architecture, function, protocol and specification.Chapter three presents the EIB network, which is based on the ISO/OSIprotocol.Chapter four introduces the physical address, group address and system codingframework, then emphasizes on EIB Intel-working standards.Chapter five describes EIB communication rules which are based oncommunication object and three communication tables.Chapter six introduces the development process from Application Module toApplication Program with the example of Switch Control Device.Chapter seven compares the traditional lighting system & the home intelligentcontrol system and shows a lighting instance of the EIB system.Chapter eight describes Digitized Intelligent Lighting System and its InfraredRemote-Controller Module.At last, chapter nine summarizes the whole paper and puts forward some newideas for the European Installation Bus system.
