As the Rapidly develop of the mobile communication technology, the study of propagation characteristics for all kinds of environments, especially urban area has become an important subject. Mobile communications is undergoing the fasted developing stage in recent years: new services being applied continuously, the number of the subscriber being increasing continuously, but the spectrum can be used is limited. To accommodate more users with limited spectrum, the radius of new cellular will be much smaller, the factor of spectrum reuse will be more tight. So, the signal resources are more in some area, the interferes are more severe.At the same time, the mobile communication system is very different from fixed wireless communication systems or fixed communication systems. The propagation of wireless signal is extremely random. The fluctuation of the signal wave is very obvious and the signal strength is restricted by the environment.In order to employ the resource of frequency reasonably & get the best quality of the network performance, many soft and propagation models are used to predicting & analyzing the signal strength distribution. At the present time most of the predicting models, always directly come from other countries, for macro cellular is statistic models based experience. The accuracy isn't satisfying. By theoretic analysis and drive test, propagation characteristics are studied & several modified models are presented in this paper. The accuracy is improved by using the new model in the actual engineering.
