Research And Implementation Of Computer Network Performance Management System Based On SNMP

The network management becomes more and more important with theincreasing size and complexity of computer network. As the performance data collected from the network equipment, being stored and analyzed, network administrators can get warning massages simultaneously, solve problems promptly, make a reasonable forecast of future network utilization, and thus modify the configuration parameter so that the network can run in an optimum state. This thesis discusses the relative theories of basic models of network management and network management protocols, and puts forward a network performance management program based on SNMP in Java.The functions of the executable program include: to gather the performance data regularly from the network equipment, to process these data and send warning messages, to renew the data base information, and to provide the query service about historical data through Web browser.
