The computer technology has been a significant and swift progress over the past few years and the computer network has been so far widely applied throughout the world. The computer grid has emerged as a new computer network technology under worldwide research and will replace current Internet technology in the future. Li Guojie, academician of the China Academy of Science, believes that computer grid is actually the third revolution of the Internet and Web and is believed to be the third generation of the Internet application.To be brief, traditional Internet realized the connection of computer hardware, the web achieved connection of web pages and the grid technology is trying to realize the connection of all resources in the Internet system, including computation, storage, telecommunication, software, information and knowledge. Nations over the world have placed concentration and channeled large amount of finance to achieve the goal of research. In early December, 2001, NTT co-operated with Intel and SGI for the grid computation experiment on 1,000,000 personal computers. This was believed to be first experiment of this technology in Japan. In fact, information giants, such as IBM, Software, SUN and HP, have consecutively started research and publicized their research programs on grid. It has been widely recognized in the circle of academia that application of grid is a new generation of network application formula. The Computer Institute under China Academy of Science has approved the Vega Grid Computer Research Plan.In China, large-scale refrigerator manufacturers have established production facilities throughout the country and resources of refrigerator tests information scatter in the computers of these production and testing systems (hereinafter referred to as the "Testing System") owned by these factories. Ft scams urgent that these information resources should be intergraded with the Internet to achieve optimized production quality assurance and general analysis and policymaking. This is the strong demand of network technology application and theoretical research. To satisfy this need, this article will focus on the computer network application system for refrigerator tests, related agreements and implementation methods and will demonstrate the trial application system of grid.This article is comprised of five sections. Section 1 covers definition, history, development background, features, classifications and research situation of grid. Section 2 introduces the emergence of the issue and analyzes complex structures andcharacteristics of current testing system of refrigerator manufacturers. Section 3 talks systematically about testing and management processes for further development. Section 4, as the principal part of this article, makes detailed analysis on the system development and achievements, including the grid testing system composition, development procedures, organization structure, specific framework as well as the system properties. Section 5 will present a conclusion and expectation.
