On The Theory And Methods For The Evaluation Of Network Academic Information Resources

Internet is an open global distributed network, just like an ocean of information, which changes the procedure of information dissemination and evaluation. The dissemination and transmission of network information lack strictly verification and filtration, causing the difficulty in distinguishing the good and the bad or the true and the false information and even graver information pollution. As to this, some serious scholars have already doubted the exactness and academic nature of network academic information resources fundamentally, asserting that if researchers do not analyze it but rather, only utilize it directly, scientific research will lose its scientificity. Thus, the evaluation of network academic information resources becomes more important day by day. It has great significance as to how to effectively utilize network academic resources.This thesis mainly makes a probe into the theory and methods of the evaluation of network academic information resources .It consists three parts.The first part deals with the four basic theoretical study for the academic information resources of network, which discusses the concept, significance, object and subject of it. Beginning with the concept of evaluation, it discusses the meaning of evaluation after analyzing the question that the academic information resources of network exists at present and further points out that the object of appraisal is to evaluate the qualities of network academic information resources.The second part reviews the principles and methods for the academic information resources of network. It puts forward that besides the general principles, such as scientificity, effectiveness, systemization, it also includes special ones, for example, emphasizing the accuracy and academic value of content and the credibility of the person who issues information and the degree of convenience of utilizing. Then, from the appraising subject and nature of evaluation, the thesismakes introduction of classification of the methods of evaluation of network academic information resources, and also analyses the drawbacks of each kind of method. And finally, the feasibility of various kinds of evaluation methods is analyzed.The third part evaluates the network academic information resources with the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation (FCE). Firstly, according to the document collected from home and abroad, the thesis simply reviews the Chinese and foreign scholar's achievement in research. Although there are a lot of methods about the evaluation of network information resources, and the application of fuzzy mathematics is very extensive, there is little evaluation of the academic information resources of network with the method of fuzzy mathematics. This is exactly the innovation and key part of this thesis. After introducing this method, the thesis proposes the index system of evaluation and works out the weight of every index with the method of analytics hierarchy process (AHP).In a word, the evaluation of network academic information resources is still at the first stage at present. Lacking references, the author regrets that further research remains to be made. Though some views of this thesis might not be mature enough, such as the index system might not be perfect or the methods might not be scientific, the author aims at giving researchers insight into the evaluation of the network academic information resources, and contributing her own pan.
