With the promulgation and actualization of 《The Health Standard for Students Physical Constitution》of the People's Republic of China, it has become a pressing obligation to develop "The Intelligent IC Card Testing System for Physical Constitution Measurement"."The Intelligent Sit Up Device"is one of the series of products of "The Intelligent IC Card Testing System for Physical Constitution Measurement". This device is a high technical product which is the combination of computer hardware and software. Taking the single chip processor AT89C51 as the run control unit, the device can automatically monitor the whole course of the sit up. The automatic monitor includes: the time control for starting and ending, language reminding for the process of command course, the real time display for the counter and the reporting for testing results as well as write card. And so on.As the thesis for the Master Degree of Science,the writing is based on the developing course of the device mentioned above.At the beginning of this thesis, following the standard of sit up enacted by the Ministry of National Education, the thesis introduces the researching background and the significance of the device. It also describes the aspects of the device in detail. Such as the components of the device, all kinds of functions and their principles, as well as the solution scheme. After that, it pays attention to the actual realizing course which consists of the strategies of hardware selection and various software control algorithms. The thesis probes into the software tools as well.At the end of this thesis, according to the successful experience of the product development, the author presents some unique ideas for improving the functions of the device.
