In this paper, it was studied that how to use the Universal Serial Bus (USB) evaluation card and some other hardware, combining the software, such as LabVIEW, VC++6.0 program language and others to make a USB data acquisition card. Then, we made a single photon counter cell function analyzer using this card. It actualized automatic detection. This analyzer can detect the ultra-weak luminescence sensitively and comparably. We used this analyzer to evaluate the radiation dose in medicine by detect their luminescence. Results showed that there are some correlations between the enhanced luminescence and the radiation doses on lymphocyte. Through examining the detection results of radiation damage, we validated the character of this analyzer and developed it.Firstly, the development, character and application of USB and the basic knowledge about the development of Easy Universal Serial Bus (EZ-USB) were introduced. The concept of virtual Instrument and its development method -LabVIEW programme technology were also introduced.We recounted the design program of the USB acquisition card from the actualization of hardware; software and dummy drive in the fourth chapter. The card was based on EZ-USB AN2131QC of Cypress company. In this paper, the hardware principle graph and software core code were given.Then, we introduced the design and actualize of the ultra-weak luminescence single photon counter cell function analyzer in the next chapter. It was introduced from design process, structure and character, and actualization process.At last, some experiments about evaluating radiation dose in medicine were done using the analyzer in the sixth chapter. Results showed, after the lymphocytes accept the radiation, the luminescence was enhanced by MCLA - a kind of luminescence probe. Enhanced luminescence increased with the radiation dose firstly, then descended. This phenomenon is the result of stress reaction of radiated lymphocyte. This result is in accord with the results from what reported by MTT and cell count. The result also validated the character of this analyzer. The analyzer can finish the detection rapidly and easily, so the cell function analysis method using luminescence is hopeful to be prevalent.In conclusion, the use of USB connects technique to actualize the connection of computer and device made it easier to use the analyzer. The devices used dummy device concepts have good expansibility. They have the function to auto-define user. The USB acquisition card we developed combined these two excellences. It can be used wildly in the photoelectric detection system. The cell function analyzer based on these elements has a wildly application foreground in detection of the cell luminescence and some correlated clinical assay.
