Capp System Development For Dalian Clothing Machinery Factory

A new computer-aided process planning (CAPP) system developed for Dalian Clothing Machinery Factory is described in the dissertation. Based on database and Intranet technology, the system can fulfill the task of process planning for mechanical products and parts as well as storing and output of the process. The development of system is a kind of combining Model, which combines the Waterfall model, 4 Generation Technology , Database Technology and the Object - Oriented method.In view of information-sharing and physical communication in the enterprise, the CAPP system adopts some fashionable technology, such as the architecture of clients/server, SQL Server 7 and Visual Basic 6. The most advanced ADO technology is employed for database operation and OLE DB for database connection engine.The system software resting on GT (Group Technology) makes good use of typical process to produce new ones, which can inherit and take the best advantage of the good experience existed in the factory. For economics and convenient application, the CAPP system lays more emphasis on process editing and database management. During the stage of general design, the whole system is divided into seven modules including four databases. And than, the modules are explained in detail and some of them are divided even smaller. At last, the menu of the system function and the edition interface of the system are vividly showed.The CAPP system is proved to be successful since the performance and functions well satisfied the needs requested by the user.
