The brake of locomotive is very important in railway transportation. It is not only a necessary method for train traveling safety, but also an important factor in train techno-velocity boosting and railway transit capability heightenning. It is very rigid in experiment on the brake of electric locomotive. With the swift development of the technologies in computer, microprocessor, network, diagnosis and conversion, a lot of intelligent electronic device have emerged, which makes it possible that using microcomputer diagnosis and control in the brake of electric locomotive. A new schema for microcomputer diagnosis and control system is put forward in this paper. In this paper, it is studied the principles of control and composition of microcomputer diagnosis and control system for electro-pneumatic brake of electric locomotive based on C VI(C for Virtual Instrument), carefully described the hardware and software architecture. The testing content, testing principle and choice and calculation of major parameters also are talked about. The system is complete, because it can diagnose not only the performance of the whole and part of brake of locomotive, which be diagnosed. Adopting the system, we can not only decrease the testing time, but also improve the testing precision and reliability, raise the level of automation with relieving the trifle work, such as data reading and writing. The more important thing is saving testing data in microcomputer or transporting them through network so that control and standardize management can be got and the testing and maintaining quality can be improved.
