TOday distributed aPplication has been the new trend in computer industryand the Object-oriented technology has been playing the main role in softwareindustry CORBA, the combination of the two, has been paid much attefltion.Research on CORBA is now changing from its architecfore and in-ner character toits application.In this thesis, OMG's Object Management AxchitectUre and the CORBA2.3specification are first introduced. This ped is fOcused on Object RequeStBroker(ORB). Interface Definition Language(IDL). Object AdaPter(especiallyPOA). It also makes compedson of CORBA and other popular distributed objectmodels or techniques.After analyzing the defects of now day's Web model, a new object Webmodel based on CORBA and Java is introduced, which is becoming more popularin lntemet and Wll be used in the rest of this paPer A brief description of how todesign a CORBA aPplication with C++Builder and What functions VisiBroker hasis provided.Then we achieve a model of distribared infOrmation managemeflt systembase on CORBA. The paPer points out the unique modeling method of distributedaPplication based on CORBA and its peculiarities. Finally an aPplication,distribuled electric infOrmation management system, is showed and some detailsof how it was implemented are also given.
