Distributed computing has made significant advances in the past few years as witnessed by the release of OSF's Distributed Computing Environment(DEC) and the adoption of a set of specifications for distributed object computing by Object Management Group(OMG). CORBA(common object request broker architecture),a specification ratified by the members of OMG,is becoming an increasingly popular standard for distributed objects in the enterprise. This is because that CORBA specifies a way in which developers may achieve seamless integration and interoperability of distributed object across heterogeneous hardware platforms and operating systems, and provides an object distributed framework that regulates the life-cycle,inter-relationships and behavior of said objects through its services and specification.Besides CORBA,there are two other ways to construct and deploy distributed application. One is the SUN's Java/Enterprise JavaBeans, the other is Microsoft's COM/DCOM.All of these ways have their own proponents and can be found easily, and it is impossible to state that one alone is best for all distributed systems. This paper first makes comparison and contrast among the three distributed architecture, and then introduces a distributed object model in order to construct the application of TIBMS(telecommunication integrated business management system). In TIBMS,there are many subsystems which reside on different hardware platforms and different operating systems, and data stored in different Relational DBMS. The goal of the TIBMS is to integrate these subsystems and provide new services for the...
