Digital Library And E-business

Based on theory and practice, the paper, Digital Library and E-business, interprets the digital library can realize the e-business activities in a common way. The whole paper is divided into four parts.At first the first part outlines its origin and development of digital library, analyses it deep social roots, then induces its intension and character, describes its construction simply combined with the current technologies, at last predicts the further of digital library. The second part introduces e-business technology. It is a very new technology, this part analyses the differences between e-business and traditional business comparatively, and describes the payment system of e-business in detail which is a most important part in e-business technology and which is the foundation of the fourth part. The third part interprets the theory that digital library can realize the e-business activities in digital library, the necessity of realizing e-business in digital library and the ways of realizing e-business activities in digital library. The fourth part constructs a small e-business system using Microsoft's ASP technology. Interpreting it in theory and making it in practice, the author believes that digital library will realize the e-business activities in future.
