| Since "Precision Agriculture" came out as the agriculture base on information high-tech,it has been the focus field that can develop continuously. In our country,the research of "Precision Agriculture" is in beginning stage now,the future of its technology relies on the getting of actual and effective data. GPS is one of the key technologies in "Precision Agriculture" technology system,it offers the basic location information for "Precision Agriculture". How to solve the collection and handling of GPS data is the basic tache of "Precision Agriculture" system,and it is the problem be solved urgently.The universal solution of collecting and handling GPS data is to adopt software in notebook PC. The shortcomings of this kind of scheme have two. One is the inconvenient of taking,the other is the power. The GPS receiver also has some shortcomings that it can t save data,the panel is small,the screen is hard to be read,operation menu is fussy,repetitive and not be easy to inquiry.The goal of this paper is to solving the problem of collection and handling GPS data in actual application. In order to solving the problem,I brought forward the scheme of combining Palm-size PC with GPS. According to the characteristics of Palm-size PC such as carry-home,strong communication ability,to develop the GPS data collector based on Palm-size PC. This equipment has functions of collect & handling data,location,navigation and saving etc,it can replace the notebook PC and GPS receiver and liberate the operator from overburden. In this paper,I realize the programming of software in the platform of embedded operation system through the developing tool of Windows CE Tool Kit for Visual C++ 6.0 offered by Microsoft. Further more,according to the problem of power and communication of Palm-size PC in application,I have designed various hardware solution schemes. The development and research of this kind of GPS data collector will benefit the extending of GPS product and Palm-size PC in industry application .
