The line scan CCD is widely used in the industrial fields and production procedures,but domestic enterprises are dependent on import of CCD,especially on the hi-speed occasions. So it is very important to develop application systems of hi-speed line scan CCD whose ratio of performance to price is high and whose application areas are wide. On the basis of analysis of normal drive circuits,special drive circuit adaptive to various driving frequencies is designed. In the meanwhile the methods of pattern recognition are discussed. The innovated BP artificial neural network is applied to character recognition and the lattice features of character are inputted directly in the course of recognition so that the images of character could be recognized automatically in this system. In this thesis the hardware system of image acquisition and character recognition algorithm are designed on the basis of synthetically applying single chip microcomputer technology,data acquisition technology,digital image analysis and processing technology and principles of artificial neural network.
