Design Of The Management Agent Software In Broadband Access Equipment

As a part of the projects "Research on High Performance Ethernet Switch " and "Research on Universal Access System (UAS) " , this thesis addresses the design and implementation of the management agent software in broadband access equipment. The paper first introduces the concept of access networks. Regarding the prevailing broadband access technology, research focus is put on the new development of Ethernettechnology and the analysis of the application hi the access networks. Secondly , with elemental concepts of network management introduced, the network management model is studied. Followed that, a design model of the management agent software for Ethernet switch is developed with respect to the function requirement. Programs of modules are made and begged. Finally, Regarding the "863" project "UAS", the design model of network management agent is extended to more complex system.
